Everyone’s design process is unique
One thing is clear after having talked to a number of engineers about their design process: And that is the fact that everyone has a unique design process.
Do you start with paper and pencil or do you jump right into a 2D CAD program? Are you the type of engineer who builds a small cardboard prototype by hand or someone who starts with a simulation program?
No matter how unique your conceptual to detailed design is, we want to hear from you.

The workflow for conceptual design and detailed design depends on many factors. Are you starting from scratch or with an existing design? How large is your design? What are the tools that you have available? How complex will your design become?
Clearly, there could be nearly as many processes for conceptual and detailed design as there are designers in the world. iCAD does its best to address the full range of the design process needs for engineers working in machinery production design – from start to finish.
Naturally, we are curious and would like to hear from you. Would you be willing to spare just two minutes and complete the iCAD survey on CAD design?
Please tell us about your design process. It will just take a couple of minutes. Here, you can fill out the survey in English.
